Originally released in 1983, the legendary Volkswagen Beetle underwent minor changes until 2003. The 1302 series was launched in 1971, retaining the same engine design and placement. The front suspension was altered from torsion bar to MacPherson strut. In 1973, the 1303 series featured a curved windshield and bigger tail lights. It came with a 1300cc engine, while the 1303S model was fitted with a 1600cc engine. The 1303 series halted production in 1975, while the convertible 1303S ran until 1979.
